QV x NF 3.0 is here!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re happy to announce the third edition of this brewing contest collaboration. For those of you joining us for the first time, QVxNF is a collaboration between brewers and artists. We host a brewing competition and invite anyone in the Newfermenters to submit a beer. These beer are then judged and 4 winners are chosen. We partner up with local artists to design the cans and release a fresh 4 pack later in the year! There\u2019s also a bottle share at the taproom where all entrants are encouraged to join!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, July 31, 2020<\/strong>
Submission available. Starting on this day, you can drop your entries at the Quidi Vidi Hop Shop. Be sure to check the entry guidelines below for details on submission format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, August 7, 2020<\/strong>
Submission deadline. All entries must be received at Quidi Vidi no later than this date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, August 23, 2020, 1:00 pm<\/strong>
Bottle Share and Judgement Day. Note: You don’t need to attend Judgement Day in person to participate in (or win) the competition, but it is recommended as it’s always a lot of fun. Be sure to arrange a ride for this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entry Guidelines<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Registration is now closed, thanks to all who entered!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entrants will submit 12 x 341ml bottles<\/strong> of homebrewed beer. Each bottle should be labelled with your entry number only<\/strong>. Please label the bottles, not the caps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each entry must include a completed recipe form<\/strong>. Be sure to write your entry number on both pages in case they get separated. Fill out as much of the information as you can. Download the form here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s some tips on beer design and system limitations from the team at Quidi Vidi:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please refrain from using ingredients that are not readily available. Certain items can be difficult to attain on a large scale and because we always hope to brew upscaled as true to entries as possible, ingredient selection can sometimes cause changes to recipes. Even hop selection can be affected by this, for example, Galaxy is a great hop! In large volumes, it\u2019s about as common as a May without snow.<\/p>

Our system is a single infusion 2-vessel system. Step-mashing and decoction mashes are unable to be effectively reproduced.<\/p>

If using fruit, please specify the format and at what stage it is added. Different formats will ferment at different rates and may carry sugars over to packaged product, resulting in secondary fermentation, or may yield different levels of character in finished product, IE: puree vs. juice vs. chunks.<\/p>Quidi Vidi<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
